Holiday on Green Street (Dec. 15 @ 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., Green Street Village, East Green Street) Newly designated Landmark District, Green Street Village (GSV), will host its “Holiday on Green Street” event. The “Holiday on Green Street” event will offer Free Dance Lessons, Illustrators, Holiday Stress Facials, Giveaways and Baskets, Live Music, Champagne, Dancers, Art, Wine Tasting and Special Discounts. Rogue One Viewing and After Party – Spinema Launch (Dec. 15 @ 7 p.m. to 1 a.m., Dave & Buster’s, 400 S. Baldwin Ave.) This event is being put together by real Star Wars fans for Star Wars fans. School of Rock The Musical (Dec. 16 @ 7:30 p.m., Theatre 360, 75 N. Marengo Ave.) School of Rock is a brand new musical based on the famous Paramount film written by Mike White, which starred Jack Black. The musical follows Dewey Finn, a failed, wannabee rock star who decides to earn a few extra bucks by posing as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. Completely disinterested in academic work, Dewey decides to create his own curriculum, turning his class into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping, mind-blowing rock band. Health and Wellness Workshop (Dec. 17 @ 2 p.m., Arcadia Public Library, 20 W. Duarte Road) This workshop examines common stressors and the effect they can have on our day-to-day lives, as well as our health and well-being, and provides many methods to cope with and reduce stress. Holiday Movie Matinee, ‘The Nutcracker’ (Dec. 17 @ 2:30 p.m., Arcadia Public Library 20 W. Duarte Road.)  Join the library for a special showing of the “The Nutcracker”. This holiday classic tells the story of a young girl whose love for a toy turns it into a prince. Together they are brought to the Land of Sweets, where an enchanting spectacle awaits them. The movie is Rated G with a run time of 93 minutes.

Gingerbread House Decorating (Dec. 17 @ 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., Monrovia Public Library, 321 S. Myrtle Ave.) Satisfy your sweet tooth and create your very own Gingerbread masterpiece in the library community room. The whole family is invited to build and create out of graham crackers, frosting and candy. Supplies are limited.

Dec. 18

‘Silent Night, Holy Night’ Concert at LCPC (Dec. 18 @ 2 p.m., La Canada Presbyterian Church, 626 Foothill Blvd.) The multimedia musical program will tell the Christmas story in song and word and is suitable for all ages. The audience will have an opportunity to sing along during several of the carols. Another highlight of the program will be actor Courtney B. Clara’s Holiday Party (Dec. 18 @ 12:30 p.m., San Gabriel Mission Playhouse 320 S. Mission Drive) Clara’s Holiday Party, a special treat for audience members young and old held prior to the matinee performances. Enjoy refreshments and a visit from Clara and the Sugarplum Fairy. Learn how to play a new board/card game, rediscover one of your favorites in our collection, or bring your own. The featured board game is Betrayal at the House on the Hill! The event is for millennials 21 plus.

Friends of the Monrovia Public Library Monday Movie Night (Dec. 19 @ 6 p.m. to 7:45 p.m., Monrovia Public Library, 321 S. Myrtle Ave.) Dress in your pajamas, bring your blanket, pillow and your favorite stuffed friend to join in for Monday Movie Night. Enjoy freshly popped popcorn as we cuddle up to watch a terrific movie with your family. This event is sponsored by Friends of the Monrovia Public Library.

Board Game Night (Dec. 20 @ 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Sierra Madre Public Library, 440 W. Sierra Madre Blvd.) Everyone is welcome to join the fun playing new and favorite games and meeting new and favorite people at the Library. Board games and light snacks are furnished. Volunteers will teach you how to play.

A Blue Christmas Service (Dec.21 @ 7 p.m., Church of the Good Shepherd, United Methodist, 400 W. Duarte Road) While bells are ringing and crowds are singing, Christmas and the holiday season can feel isolating for those who have experienced loss or are struggling. Church of the Good Shepherd, United Methodist, will host a special service for those for whom the holidays are a difficult time. All are welcome to this meditative and healing service.
