Arcadia Movies Featured at Gilb Museum

Photogenic Arcadia has been the backdrop for Hollywood movies for decades. Join us at the Gilb Museum of Arcadia Heritage in July and August for the 8th Annual “Arcadia at the Movies” program. A pre-movie talk about the movie and cast will be presented by film historian A.J. Downhower. Bring your lawn chair and a beverage–the Museum will provide the popcorn. Minors must be supervised.

On July 13 at 7:30 p.m.: Hal Roach Tribute

Featuring “The Music Box” (Laurel and Hardy, 1932); “Bored of Education” (The Little Rascals/Our Gang, 1936); and a silent short “Ask Grandma” (The Little Rascals/Our Gang, 1925).

On Aug. 10 at 7:30 p.m.: Hells Angels

Scenes filmed at the Old Ross Field Balloon School. Directed by Howard Hughes, featuring Jean Harlow and Ben Lyon (1930).

The Museum Education Center is located at 382 W. Huntington Drive. The Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (closed noon-1 p.m.). Admission is always free.
