Arcadia Crime Blotters: Dec. 27–Jan. 2

Dec. 27

At 12:21 a.m., an officer took a telephonic report of a vandalism that occurred in the 1100 block of West Duarte Road. The victim stated a rock had been thrown through one of the windows of the residence for no apparent reason. It does not appear as though anyone entered the home. The victim stated the incident was not captured by surveillance cameras.

At 5:10 p.m., an officer responded to the Hilton Garden Inn, located at 199 N. Second Ave., regarding a stolen vehicle report. Sometime between 7 and 9 p.m. on Dec. 26, the victim’s Honda Accord was stolen. The victim stated he misplaced his keys. There is no surveillance footage of the incident.

Dec. 28

At 7:40 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 00 block of Alta Street regarding a residential burglary report. The victim stated someone entered the home through the unlocked front door and stole numerous pairs of shoes. The victim was unable to provide any suspect information.

At 8:50 a.m., an officer responded to Bank of the West, located at 1155 W. Huntington Drive, regarding a commercial burglary. Surveillance footage revealed a lone suspect entered the business through the roof and, once inside, he opened desk drawers and fled with an unknown amount of currency. The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic male seen wearing a black long-sleeve shirt, gray shorts, and a blue backpack. The investigation is ongoing.

Dec. 29

At 9:10 a.m., an officer responded to the 700 block of Fairview Avenue regarding a commercial burglary report. Sometime during the previous evening, an unknown suspect entered the victim’s carport storage closet and fled with financial documents and a computer. The officer was unable to locate any additional victims, evidence, or witnesses.

At 12:31 p.m., an officer took a telephonic report of a package theft from the 300 block of Las Tunas Drive. The victim discovered his package containing two new cellphones was stolen sometime between Dec. 10 and 24. The victim stated the incident was not captured by surveillance cameras.

Dec. 30

At 3:37 a.m., an officer responded to Fertig and Gordan Co. Inc, located at 7 N. Fifth Ave., regarding a commercial burglary report. The officer concluded the suspect turned off the power to the closed business before smashing a window and entering the location. Once inside, the suspect ransacked the business but fled emptyhanded. The business was unable to provide any suspect information or surveillance footage.

At 12:47 p.m., an officer responded to the 100 block of East Santa Clara Street regarding a vehicle burglary report. An investigation revealed a suspect entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle and fled with clothing and an iPod. There is no suspect information at this time.

Dec. 31

At 9:34 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 300 block of East Camino Real Avenue regarding a burglary report. The officer discovered the residence, which is currently under renovation, was burglarized and the unknown suspect(s) fled with various tools. The incident is under investigation.

At 4:07 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 00 block of East Christina Street regarding a package theft report. Surveillance footage revealed a male suspect wearing a blue “LA” hat, black sunglasses, a blue surgical mask and a blue tank top stole the victim’s package from his porch. The investigation is ongoing.

Jan. 1

At 10 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1400 block of Caballero Road regarding an attempted residential burglary report. The victim was home when he was awoken by a suspect opening the door and activating the alarm. The victim exited his home to investigate but was unable to find the suspect. The officer was unable to locate any additional evidence.

At 1:49 p.m., an officer responded to Macy’s, located at 400 S. Baldwin Ave., regarding a theft suspect in custody. Surveillance footage revealed the suspect stole three articles of clothing and then exited the store with no intention of paying for the items.  The 38-year-old female from Los Angeles was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. A records check revealed she also had two outstanding misdemeanor warrants for her arrest.

Jan. 2

At 1:24 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 100 block of La Porte Street regarding a grand theft report. The officer discovered the suspect entered the victim’s carport and stole a pressure washer. The incident was not captured by surveillance cameras.

At 6:40 p.m., an officer responded to Huntington Drive Health and Rehabilitation Center, located at 400 W. Huntington Drive, regarding a petty theft report. The victim stated a suspect stole $40 from her purse. The victim is unsure of who could have committed the theft.
