At 7:36 a.m., an officer responded to Extended Stay, located at 401 E. Santa Clara St., regarding a grand theft report. The officer discovered the victim’s ex-husband fled with her purse and gold chain after a verbal dispute. The suspect, a 28-year-old male from Pasadena, is outstanding as of June 9.
At 8:28 a.m., an officer responded to Nice Guy Tattoo, located at 602 E. Live Oak Ave., regarding a commercial burglary report. The victim discovered that sometime during the previous night, unknown suspect(s) smashed the front glass door, opened a few drawers, but ultimately left empty-handed. The investigation is pending a review of a neighboring business’s surveillance footage.
At 5:40 a.m., an officer responded to the 900 block of Palo Alto Drive regarding a vandalism report. The victim stated she witnessed the suspect use a metal object, possibly a tire iron, to smash her driver’s side window. The suspect is described as a black male in his twenties, with a thin build, and he was seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and a black backpack. The victim was not desirous of prosecution.
At 11:01 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1000 block of Fairview Avenue regarding a battery report. A verbal argument between a boyfriend and girlfriend turned physical resulting in the male suspect hitting the female victim on the right side of her face with the back of his hand. The suspect, a 31-year-old male from Arcadia, fled before officers arrived. The suspect is outstanding as of June 9th.
At 9:05 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 2600 block of Louise Avenue regarding a vehicle burglary report. The officer discovered sometime between May 27 and June 2, a suspect entered the victim’s vehicle by unknown means, ransacked the interior, and stole $25 cash. There is no suspect information at this time.
At 9:03 a.m., an officer responded to the 600 block of West Orange Grove Road regarding a mail theft report. The reporting party located mail left in the parking lot of Orange Grove Park. Upon contacting the mail theft victims, two of the victims could not supply any surveillance footage and Arcadia PD is awaiting contact with the third victim. The investigation is ongoing.
At 6:28 p.m., an officer responded to Vons, located at 745 W. Naomi Ave., regarding a battery report. An investigation revealed the victim, a store employee, was advising potential customers that the store was closed when a pedestrian battered him. The suspect, described as a white male in his 50s with gray hair and a large build, struck the victim with an open palm across the victim’s jaw. The investigation is ongoing.
At 3:17 p.m., an officer responded to the 00 block of East Longden Avenue regarding a stolen vehicle report. The victim stated his Chevrolet Astro Van was stolen between 2:30 and 2:45 p.m. The vehicle contained gardening equipment. The vehicle was recovered later in the day near the intersection of Louise Avenue and Camino Real Avenue with the aforementioned property. There is no suspect information at this time.
At 11:19 p.m., an officer responded to Home Liquor, located at 502 ½ E. Live Oak Ave., regarding a commercial burglary report. The reporting party witnessed two suspects cut the power to the business complex and return to their vehicle. An officer located a similar vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. As the officer parked and approached the vehicle, the vehicle then fled and turned off all of the exterior lights. The officer attempted to catch up to the vehicle, but was unsuccessful. Another officer responded to the business complex and discovered that unknown suspect(s) smashed the front glass door to Home Liquor, they moved a bottle of liquor, and the officer located several cut locks near the electrical panel. The vehicle seen fleeing the location was described as a black GMC Yukon. The investigation is ongoing.
At 4:07 a.m., an officer witnessed a vehicle collide with the center median in the area of Huntington Drive and La Cadena Avenue. Responding officers located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. The driver parked her vehicle and exited. Upon contacting the driver, the officer noticed her speech was slurred and her eyes were bloodshot and watery. When asked if there was anything illegal inside the car, the victim admitted that she had a methamphetamine pipe in her purse and she continued to admit she had smoked marijuana several hours ago. Through a series of tests, the officer determined the 41-year-old female from Los Angeles was under the influence of drugs and alcohol. During an inventory of the vehicle, the officer located personal identifiable information of numerous victims, as well as other evidence of identity theft. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
At 9:47 a.m., an officer responded to a dental office, located at 500 N. First St., regarding a commercial burglary report. The investigation revealed that on the evening of June 3, unknown suspect(s) used a pry tool to break into the electrical closet of the building. The suspects then cracked a small glass window. They also attempted to pry open the door and damaged the door jam. No loss was reported. There is no suspect information at this time.
At 6:50 p.m., an officer responded to a parking lot in the 900 block of South Baldwin Avenue regarding a vehicle burglary report. Sometime between 6:35 and 6:50 p.m. on June 5, an unknown suspect smashed a rear passenger window and stole the victim’s laptop and computer bag. The investigation is pending a review of the surveillance footage.
At 6:07 a.m., an officer responded to the 1200 block of South Golden West Avenue regarding a mail theft report. The officer discovered a resident’s mail had been left scattered on the ground. The mailbox did not show any signs of forced entry, and there is no suspect information at this time.
At 11:28 a.m., an officer responded to Denny’s, located at 7 E. Huntington Drive, regarding a theft investigation. An investigation revealed a male suspect accused an elderly victim that the victim had driven his car over the suspect’s foot. As the victim gave the suspect his wallet and identification in an effort to exchange information, the suspect stole $60 cash from the victim’s wallet. Additional officers located a possible suspect but the victim was unable to positively identify him. The suspect is described as a white male with dark hair, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall, 145 pounds, and he was seen wearing a “golf” jacket.
