Just after 12:42 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of El Monte Avenue and Camino Real Avenue for driving a vehicle without a license plate. Upon contacting the occupants, the officer noticed a bag of marijuana in plain sight. Also, a records check of the occupants revealed a 20-year-old female from Los Angeles was on parole for burglary and a 19-year-old female from Los Angeles was on probation for possession of a firearm. During a search of the vehicle, the officer located numerous items of stolen property from a recent residential burglary that occurred near Lomita. The listed suspects, as well as a 30-year-old male from Los Angeles, and a 17-year-old female from Los Angeles were arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Around 1:48 p.m., an officer initiated consensual contact with an individual in the area of Sixth Avenue and Camino Real Avenue for “flipping off” passersby. An investigation revealed the suspect, a 29-year-old male from Pasadena, was a narcotics addict in possession of a concealed firearm and drug paraphernalia. A records check revealed he had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. He was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
At about 8:12 a.m., an officer responded to Off Beach Tanning, 129 S. First St., regarding an activation of an Arcadia Police Department GPS tracker. Arcadia PD detectives had previously deployed decoy packages containing bait property and tracking devices to combat the increase in package thefts from residential areas. An investigation revealed a 28-year-old male from Duarte had the stolen property in his possession. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
At approximately 4:20 p.m., an officer responded to Rite Aid, 165 E. Foothill Blvd., regarding a robbery report. A struggle ensued between a store employee and the suspect, a 57-year-old male from Arcadia, after he attempted to steal a pack of beer. He was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Around 8:39 a.m., an officer responded to Arcadia Methodist Hospital, 300 W. Huntington Drive, regarding a battery report. The officer discovered a 78-year-old male patient from Las Vegas struck his nurse as she attempted to insert an IV. The suspect fled prior to the officer’s arrival. The investigation is ongoing.
Just after 1:09 p.m., an officer responded to BJ’s Restaurant, 400 E. Huntington Drive, regarding a disturbance report. An investigation revealed the suspect attempted to fight a restaurant patron and verbally threatened the manager before an on-duty Monrovia Police Department Detective intervened. The suspect pushed the detective causing him to detain the suspect. Arcadia officers arrived on scene, arrested the 37-year-old male from Compton, and transported him to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Around 2:02 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 000 block of East Longden Avenue regarding a domestic disturbance report. The officer determined a physical altercation occurred between a husband and wife resulting in the husband pulling his wife to the ground. The 44-year-old male from Arcadia was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Shortly after 11:39 a.m., an officer responded to a business in the 300 block of North Santa Anita Avenue regarding a fraud report. The officer discovered an unknown suspect used the victim’s credit card information to charge nearly $3,600 in fraudulent transactions. The victim was in possession of his card at the time of the crimes. A new card was issued by the victim’s bank, however, it had also been compromised. The victim does not know how the suspect obtained his personal information.
At about 9:23 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1200 block of Louise Avenue regarding a burglary report. An investigation revealed unidentified suspect(s) entered the residence by forcing open a rear laundry door, stole cash and a purse, and fled. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located. The investigation is ongoing.
At approximately 12:25 a.m., an officer responded to 24 Hour Fitness, 125 N. First Ave., regarding a burglary report. The victim stated his gym bag and personal belongings had been stolen from a locked locker and his debit card had been used at a Walmart in the City of Industry. The investigation is ongoing.
Around 7:25 p.m., an officer responded to JC Penney, 400 S. Baldwin Ave., regarding a theft investigation. A loss prevention specialist witnessed the 19-year-old female from El Monte conceal nearly $1,290 worth of merchandise in various bags before exiting the store, failing to make payment. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
At about 1:35 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 300 block of Diamond Street regarding a package theft report. A witness stated two male suspects stole a package from the residence and fled in a gray Nissan Altima. An area check did not locate the suspects.
Just after 2:37 p.m., an officer responded to the Arcadia Police Department front counter regarding a fraud report. An investigation revealed a former maid forged the victim’s signature on 50 checks and stole over $95,000 over the course of a year. The 39-year-old female from Monterey Park is outstanding at the time of this report.
At approximately 8:04 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Holly Avenue and Lemon Avenue for suspicious activity. Upon contacting the driver, the suspects fled and a pursuit ensued. The pursuit ended when the driver lost control and collided with a palm tree near the intersection of Holly Avenue and Huntington Drive. Both suspects fled on foot. A 22-year-old male from Altadena was located and taken into custody. With the assistance of Monrovia Police Department, Sierra Madre Police Department, and Pasadena Police Department’s air units, the second suspect, a 27-year-old male from Altadena, was located hiding in a nearby apartment complex. A search of the vehicle revealed gloves and a ski mask. Both suspects were arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
