Maria Consuelo (Connie) Harven passed away Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2019 at St. Francis Extended Care in Hayward, Calif. She was 91.

Connie was born March 16, 1928 in Alhambra, Calif., the second-oldest of eight siblings. She was united in holy matrimony to John Harven (now deceased), on Nov. 28, 1953 and they were blessed with three children. In 1961 the young family moved to the China Lake/Ridgecrest area to help Connie deal with the rheumatoid arthritis that attacked her body. While that pain never ceased, Connie managed to live with this unfortunate condition with vigor.

Her faith in the Lord was a great presence and comfort to her daily life. She was a member of the St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Ridgecrest, Calif. and an active member of the Legion of Mary and altar society. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, kind and patient heart and love for her family and friends.

Consuelo is survived by her three children Bill (Judy) Harven, Jim (Nancy) Harven, and Nancy (Keith) Krogman, seven grandchildren (Michelle, Elise, Gabriel, Lyndsey, Tammy, Lauren and Rachel) and her great-grandson Beau.

She will be laid to rest in the Bakersfield National Cemetery with John. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Nov. 21, 2019 at St. Joachim’s church in Hayward. Family will hold a celebration of life in Southern California to honor Connie with memories and appreciation.

In lieu of flowers, a contribution may be made in Connie’s name to the Arthritis Foundation, www.arthritis.org.
